YOU SAID:
Wrimos! We are in week two. We are pretty far into week two. For those of you who are veterans you know what this means. Week two is talked about in hushed tones, whispered about in the chat and at write-ins, the week where everything feels wrong. The week we suddenly get scared to write. For those of you who are new, you may have felt this without knowing what it means. The first days of November were brilliant. You loved the novel, you itched to write, everything went smoothly. But suddenly it has stopped. It's impossible to write a hundred words without questioning them, reading them, be embarrassed over them. To sit down with the PC or notebook seems like an impossible task. Writing has become something scary. Suddenly the dishes seem alluring. And you spend a lot of time washing your sink in the bathroom or making the bed. Your head is empty of writing and full of doubt. This is normal. This is common. And especially; This is something that creates unity in us. When things are at their worst, when writing almost feels like an enemy, we gather together, comfort one another, build eachother up. Are you on the word goal of the day: Fantastic! Keep going! Are you over today's word goal: Fantastic! Keep going! Are you below the word goal: Keep on writing! 5 words or 5,000, everything counts! Whatever you have, it's probably more than you would have had if NaNoWriMo did not exist. If this magical, peculiar, somewhat crazy event did not exist, how much do you think you'd write then? Think about it; you do something other people only walk around and dream about. People say "I wish I could write a novel..." but they don't try. They don't dare to start. You are trying! You are already tougher than all those others. Perhaps you are scared out of your mind. What if you won't make it? What if the novel crashes and burns and never becomes anything? Maybe it will, and then you can restart. And that's the most important thing NaNoWriMo teaches us: We must have the courage to start. Week two is almost over. Perhaps you are sick and tired. In week three you might get a second wind, or not. Support those around you and ask for help to move on. Brainstorm with someone, share your worst and best sentences with someone. Maybe your worst idea isn't so bad after all. You don't know before you write it down and let it shine for a bit, a light in the dark, something that exists because you, specifically you, had enough courage to write it down. There is something magical about writing and storytellers, we create something out of nothing. It requires courage and effort. I believe in you, you can do this! Fight on. Fight for the unsaid words inside you, write them down, let them get their place in the world. You can always rewrite later. If you have not done so yet, visit the Discord chat. There are so many word wars and so much cheering and support that it's easy to get emotional. If you have the opportunity, go to the nearest write-in. If you live near an ML, you'll probably be overwhelmed by stickers, prizes, whipping and / or carrots, whatever you need. If you don't live near an ML, consider being the one who praises, cheers and encourages. It's good for your own motivation too, I promise. Be brave! Write on! And finally, I would just like to praise everyone who participated in the City War for a fantastic effort yesterday. I'm so proud of everyone, that was the best NaNoWriMo experience I've ever had! There was bickering, there was laughing, there was a little bit of a drama, the last hour was nerve-wracking - and then Norgeir (a troll you get to keep for a year if you win the City War) has to be passed over to the Oslo / Bergen Alliance. It was a really well deserved victory. Looking forward to next year! Eirin (eekageek) Municipal Liaison for Europe :: Norway

That didn't even make that much sense in English.
