The Womens’ Suffrage Movement was a female movement that started in New York and radically extended to the rest of the world from 1848 to 2007. It occurred because women wanted independence from men and took place by the use of legal petitions and protests. The irony of the matter is that nowadays, women vote more than men, showing that The Womens’ Suffrage Movement was not a complete waste of time. According to the Pew Research Center “American women have turned out to vote at slightly higher rates than men in every U.S. presidential election since 1984.”. This personally surprised me, because every single U.S. president was male, showing that men are more into politics than women. That should’ve meant that men would vote more, but it seems to be quite the opposite.
