The boy stumbled along until he came to a opening. There was a humongous grassy area with two trails leading away. The boy sat down and regained some energy. He had to choose from one of the two trails. Both trails were surrounded by a forest. The boy heard a moan coming from the trail on the right. The boy leaped up and investigated the moan. As he went further and further ink he could almost pinpoint the sound. The moan was of an owl whose foot was hurt. The boy went up to the owl and touched him. The moaning stopped. Slowly, the wound began to heal. "Magic!" The boy thought. The boy walked further on and the owl followed. They soon came to another clearing. A person! In the distance, the boy could see the outline of a shadow. The boy called out "Hello!". There was a rustling in the leaves near the person. The boy walked for what felt like a hour, the owl now perched on his shoulder. He could see the distinctive features of the shadow. It was definitely a human. The human started walking towards him too. As soon as they met, the human said " Hello, My name is Arthur. " But the boy did not know his own name. " I forgot my name. " spoke the boy. The human was fascinated by the owl. It was turning to night time. "Where did you find this owl?" Arthur asked. "I heard him moaning and I touched him, somehow healing his wounds. ”Merlin spoke. Merlin looked back. The grass was taller near the path he took. There was also lots of flowers. Arthur named the boy 'Merlin" after one of his relatives. He took Merlin to the tent and fed him some food. Merlin rested for a little while and finally gained energy. Arthur was the descendant of the current king. No one knew where he was and were worried sick searching. Arthur had just wanted to take a small vacation. Arthur was going back tomorrow and asked Merlin if he would like to join. "Yes" replied Merlin. The next day, they set off for the kingdom. At last, they reached the castle at sunfall. Arthur lived a life of royalty. Merlin was soon known throughout the kingdom. They lived on until the king died. Arthur was the next in line and he had to choose his advisers. He chose some close friends and some powerful people. There was one spot left when he announced Merlin. Merlin was shocked. He couldn't be a adviser. He had to learn magic. Merlin soon found out about other things he could do with his magic. Merlin was telepathic. He could read the minds of other people. No one knew of this except Merlin himself and Arthur. Merlin could also produce fire from his hands at will. After 3 decades of peace, the kingdom was attacked. King Arthur had to defend his kingdom from the Saxon invaders. King Arthur, Merlin and the troops fought and fought and fought, but the war seemed that it will never end. Lots of troops had been lost and King Arthur was going in to fight. He brought Merlin along with his magical powers. Merlin had become good friends with Sir Lancelot and Sir Camelot. They were both good fighters and good friends. All four of them were going to fight. Nobody could stop all 4 if they were together. The basecamp was suddenly deafening. They were being attacked. In the distance, they could see an army and a leader. The leader’s name was Mordred. They had to be ready to fight. The king and his advisors were at the other end of the camp. Merlin had to protect him. Merlin read Mordred’s mind. ”The other army should be coming from the back soon. ” Merlin had to relay this information. He found the king and Merlin told him ”There will be another army on the other side. ” King Arthur was shocked. “We cannot hold up against so many people!” Merlin was telepathic and that meant he could also put ideas into somebody’s brain. He thought of the General, who was fighting another battle. They received the news and marched toward the basecamp. The fighting had started. Mordred’s army was bringing an onslaught to the fight. After a while, the Saxons almost controlled the entire base and the King Arthur could see the other army coming in from behind. “A Miracle!” Merlin shouted. He could see their reinforcements coming from the side. Their army was bigger than both of Mordred’s armies combined. King Arthur was hiding in an underground bunker. Sir Camelot had been injured and Sir Lancelot was exhausted. Merlin tended to Sir Camelot while Sir Lancelot lightly napped. Noise! The bunker has been discovered. Mordred was on his way down. The four took and escape route and got out. The reinforcements had been weared out by previous battles, heading straight into this one. Mordred found them again. They fled to the ground chased by Mordred and 10 soldiers. Merlin tried to change the thought in Mordred’s head but he would go back to thinking ”kill the king. ” Mordred finally caught up and Sir Lancelot fought with him. Merlin was affecting the soldiers’ minds to kill each other. Mordred got a swipe in at the King. The King stepped forward and fought with Mordred. Either both hit the other or neither hit the other person. The king finally killed Mordred but he was bleeding heavily. For Merlin to heal him, Merlin would go under intense pain. Merlin tried, but could not succeed. The King bled out 5 minutes after killing Mordred announcing Sir Lancelot as the next King. Merlin carried the king’s body and fled to the reinforcements. The morale was already low but the death of King Arthur got rid of it. The reinforcements fled back to the castle. The whole kingdom was on grief. Merlin had lived with the king since he washed up on the beach. It was close to 15 years ago. Merlin became an advisor for Sir Lancelot and they lived until Sir Lancelot’s death 24 years later.
