YOU SAID:
Lore hesitated, if her Mother found out she decided to wear her tunic and leggings under her dress she would be disappointed, but she felt she should be prepared just in case. You never know what could happen. She really disliked how the dress restricted her movements, no matter how loose and flowy the material was. Regardless, she finished latching the small gold buttons to close the burgundy fabric. Lore slung her haversack over her shoulder, the leather clashing with the shimmery cloth. She was not going anywhere without her dagger and other items. She didn’t want to think what could happen the one time she left without them. Her mother sighed as she reached the foyer. “I suppose I have to concede some things, don’t I?” Lore smiled wryly, “What? You don’t like my new look? Haversacks and semi-formal dresses are all the rage in Kenebres.” Her mom just shook her head. “Your siblings and father are waiting for you.” She opened the front door, the stained glass casting rainbow lights over the hardwood floor. Lore stepped out into the warm summer morning, the porch looking out at the cobblestone circle already at people mulling about for the festival. She was greeted by the smiling face of her younger sister by a couple years holding a babe in her arm. “Lore! It’s so good to see you again! What has it been now, two years?” “Too long, Evelyn. Mother told be about little Lark here. Congratulations- she looks beautiful and healthy.” Lore hugged her around the baby and stepped back. Her family may be used to her long absences, but she still felt guilty, especially when she missed major events. “And where is Wren?” “Never mind him, he’ll show up. I actually brought gift for you, I was hoping to give it before you were all ready, but Ma said you arrived late last night and didn’t even make it to your room before falling asleep in a guest room!” Lore gave a single laugh.“Yeah I did. It was a long journey from where I was staying. I haven’t even been in my room this morning either.” Their mom had already left them on the veranda, presumably to meet their father. “And about that gift?” Lore waggled her eyebrows. Evelyn laughed. “Always the impatient one, here take Lark so I can get it out of my bag.” She handed the swaddled bundle to Lore. Lark cooed and tried to grab a lock of red hair that spilled over Lore’s shoulder. She smiled and grimaced at the youngest’s strength when Lark finally succeeded. A loud “AHA!” caused Lore to look up to see Evelyn close her bag and hold up a small wrapped package. She grinned triumphantly. “Here, trade you.” Lore took the gift and admired the neat wrapping. “I almost don’t want to ruin it.” “Ah, please open it! Me and Wren spent too long picking it out for you leave it as is.” “Don’t you worry, I will.” She tugged off the covering to reveal a small jeweled hair pin about the size of her pinky. Running her fingers over the burgundy gems she turned it in the light, watching the sun’s rays bouncing off the gold. “Oh wow, it’s lovely.” “Luckily your favorite colors have never changed, so it’s easy to predict what will match.” Lore heard small murmur and a felt soft tug at her hair. “Not even gonna put it up for the day…” she whirled around. Wren stood there with raised eyebrows. “So are you gonna wear that or can I take it?” He looked pointedly at the barrette. “Hmmmm I hadn’t quite decided yet. It would look lovely with your hair.” She held it up to his black hair in demonstration. He reached up and clipped a lock of hair so it revealed his pointy ears, only slightly less so than her’s. “Oh I was right, it’s such a shame it suits you so much better, I was looking forward to wearing it.” Her voice dripped with sarcasm. He looked pained, “Well, i suppose if you have your heart set on it, we can switch off.” He sighed dramatically. “Thank you kindly.” Lore unclipped the pin and fixed it into her own hair. The moment of silence broke when they both stepped forward and embraced. “I missed you, Wren. I’m so happy to be back again.” “Only to visit?” He muttered only to them. “Only to visit.” She clarified. She and Wren has been friends since he was old enough to talk, despite being younger than both her and Evelyn. Evelyn stared and bounced her baby as they released each other. “You two are the same as ever.” They all grinned at each other. “Alright you three, it’s time to go or we’ll be in the crowds.” Their mother waved to them with their father from the cobbled streets. Wren waved back. “Yeah, yeah, we’re coming.” He bounded down the stairs. Evelyn adjusted Lark and her similarly styled dress as Lore’s. They stepped down to meet the rest of the family. Together they perused the stands’ various wares. Lore stopped at every magical item stand, Wren seriously considered getting a hair piece like Lore’s, and Evelyn had to be pulled away from any store selling small baby items. At one, while Wren was a ways behind chatting with their parents, Evelyn leaned over, her chestnut hair cascading like a curtain shielding then from the outside world. Her eyes sparkling, she asked, “Would you like to hear a secret? You mustn’t tell anyone, not even Wren.” Lore wasn’t sure, not even being able to tell Wren? Despite this, she was overtaken by curiosity, and nodded her head. “I’m expecting again.” Lore gasped, quickly shushed by Evelyn, who immediately set down what she was holding and briskly walked back to her family. Lore followed, her good day made better by this news. They continued perusing, stopping to get dinner along the way, until eventually convening with the other festival attendees at the center of Kenebres. Lore nudged

That didn't even make that much sense in English.
