YOU SAID:
Finding the "Use" in "Useless" Picture this : You are an artist, but you have gotten bored of painting, summed up with sculpting, and marked-off mosiacs. What can you do to save your career? Well if you are an artist like Pablo Picasso or Andy Goldsworthy, you go on to the street or forest to grab some trash or leaves and make something beautiful. People can make amazing art from things that seem useless, some of these things are Earth Art, Trash creations, and recycled art. First of all, many people often think of a leaf or a stick as a peice of trash, or as a kid, something to throw around or hit with/at things, but not Andy Goldsworthy. Andy Goldworthy sees the art in just about anyting nature brings him. "Earth Artist Andy Goldsworthy started out with a simple rule: he would work outside and only use materials he could find nearby" (source 2) "That meant using thorns to pin dried stalks together and spit to paste leaves to rocks!" (source 2) That shows how Goldsworthy finds the real art in nature. he works hard to get different things into beautiful art with just the power of nature. but it isn't easy. "In Rivers and Tides, the artist tries toconstruct an egg-shaped cairn on the beach out of flat stones. Although it looks sturdy, the growing pile of stone is a delicate act of weight and balance. Suddely, the whole thing collapses! Goldsworthy hangs his head for a minute before cleaning up and starting over." (source 2) as you now see from the quote, making earth art takes a lot of discipline and patience. not only do you have to be very calm and disciplined, but you also have to be able to control yourself. as you learned from this paragraph, earth art is beautiful art made from things like leaves and sticks, but to complete it you have to be calm, disciplined and self controlled. in addition, most people don't see a connection between tools and art, but the handful of exeptions are the students at Eileen Farrelly-Moyotl's 11th-grade fashion design class at the High School of Art and Design in Manhattan and Jennifer Renée Caden Merdjan's art class at Bard High School and Early College in Queens. They took things like straws and bags with fish inside them and used them to make things like dresses and chandeleirs. These students will go to places like the dump or dollar store to get things that seem very useless, but these students can truly find the use in useless. "Her class has designed a chandeleir made from hamster tubes, a hand bag sewn together with bycicle tire tubes and a dress fashioned from soda cans. One student painstakingly peiced together a dress using 1,134 plastic straws." (scource 3) This really shows how you really should recycle, if you have some trash and a touch of genius, you can make useful things. Not only do people make things such as handdbags and dresses out of trash, but also things called 'patchwork quilts.' These people make these quilts by taking trash and weaving it into a blanket. "A patchwork quilt is sewn together from scraps, remnants, and rags. Quilters, often working together, combine these irregular bits and peices of cloth into a new pattern."

That didn't even make that much sense in English.
