Easter Holidays In Ukraine, we celebrate Easter on the weekend starting April 16th. It’s a special day where people have a day off and go to church in the morning. The name “Velykden” means The Great Day. By tradition, we bake a special type of bread called Paskha, some people are colouring eggs in different colours to place them in an Easter Basket. Some of the eggs are decorated with hand-painted ornaments. Also, before eating the egg we play a little game. This game involves 2 players who have 1 egg each and try to crack each other’s eggs. The first one to have their egg broken loses the game.
