Dear Mom and Dad, I am writing this letter to you regarding my first co-op job. As you already know, I have immense passion for space exploration. I have dreamt about making rockets that take astronauts beyond the moon. I have also wanted to be one of those astronauts. The second dream sounds better as a dream but the first dream seems like it is in reach. My first co-op cycle is coming up and I wanted to tell you why I picked the job that I picked. I will be working for the private space exploration/transportation company SpaceX. SpaceX designs, manufactures and launches advanced rockets and spacecrafts. They are an American company that has pioneered space travel since it’s foundation in 2002. This company is the epitome of the kind of company I always wanted to work for. It is currently the known standard for space travel, It has job openings where mechanical engineers would fit perfectly, The CEO of the company is the closest thing a man can get to “Tony Stark” and his name is Elon Musk(who is also the CEO of the radically modern and all electric Tesla motors), the location for the job is Hawthorne, California. There are a lot of upsides but there also sort of a downside. I do not know if I should apply for this job because it feels too early. I feel as if I am not prepared. The job description on their website says that it includes coding and writing programs. I am more confident and in designing hardware than I could do a co-op at a local company but then I would lose opportunity to work for one of my favorite companies.
