Aaron was tired after a long day at school. He was on an exchange year in Germany, and even tho he had learned the language back in the U.S Aaron still wasn’t very good at speaking. He was 17 years old and was desperately trying to find some friends. Aaron had been in Germany for over a month now, but nobody wanted to talk to him. But tomorrow night there was a party, where almost everyone was gonna be. When he first heard Aaron didn’t want to go because he thought that it would be too awkward. But now he thought that it was better to risk it. The next day had come and Aaron was very nervous, but at lunch, he decided to go over to the cool kids to talk about the party. “What are you guys going to be wearing at the party,” Aaron said, the other guys looked up. Aaron got nervous when they didn’t answer at first, but then one of the boys answered “are you coming, bro?”. Aaron started to get even more nervous. What if you had to get invited? Did I misunderstand? I should have never even tried. “If you guys let me?” Now he was shaking. One of the dudes stood up, he was muscular and very tall. “yeah of course it could be fun to have an exchange student come. I’m Stefan what’s your name?” “I’m Aaron, nice to meet you too”. As Aaron walked away he was filled with joy. “Oh, and Aaron?” Stefan shouted through the hall. He looked back, and instantly the nerves were back. “I’m dressing up fancy with a suit, maybe do the same?” “Yeah for sure,” he said knowing he didn’t have a suit. As soon as he got home, Aaron took his money and went out to buy a nice suit. It did cost him most of his money but it was worth it. He got home dressed up and got on his bike to get to the party. Aaron walked up and rang the doorbell he could hear a lot of noise. It must be a big party he thought. A guy opened the door, and inside Aaron saw everybody with their cameras out laughing and filming him. Nobody was wearing a suit, not even the guy that told Aaron to wear one. Quickly he ran away crying, and the only thing he heard was laughter. Some people were shouting “fancy boy”. Aaron was sad and felt helpless and alone as he ran away. With no friends, he ran away. The more he thought about what happened the angrier he got, and after thinking about it all night he whispered to himself “trust no one”.
